This is the toughest Vegas field in history. It's like an early NCAA tournament. Look who's listed as participating:
Five of the top Ten (based on InterMat tourney rankings)
tOSU
Minnesota
Cornell
Mizzou
Nebraska
Plus also in the top 25:
Michigan (they have a top ten squad IMO)
Iowa State
UVA
Virginia Tech
N. Iowa
Rutgers
Oklahoma
NC State
Oregon State
That's not even mentioning solid teams like Purdue, Indiana, Navy, Wyoming, WVA and ASU.
Absolutely brutal. Whichever team wins should be ranked #1.

I didn't realize that Minnesota committed to Vegas!
That just makes it crazier.

Hank. I took the list of teams and compared it to the InterMat individual rankings. Here are the # rank (not names) at each weight with the buckeye rank in parentheses to give you an idea of TOSU seeds as they would stand today.
125: 2-3-5-6-8-(11)-14-19
133: 3-4-(7)-9-10-13-14-16-18
141: (1)-4-12-13-14-15-17-18
149: 2-(4)-6-7-8-10-14
157: 1-2-4-5-6-(7)-10-12-13-16
165: 2-3-6-9-10-11-(13)-14-15-18
174: 1-2-7-(11)-12-15-16-19
184: 1-7-(8)-9-11-13-14-15-16-18
197: 1-2-3-(7)-8-10-14-16-17-19
285: 1-4-8-9-(10)-13-15-16-17-19-20
This will not be a tournament for the timid. As the saying goes. This will be where you separate the men from the boys.

Hank,
Does Vegas have a website or does anyone have a link? Looking for a preview of the field.
Dan,
Are the above rankings from before the MSU Open or after? Will the MSU Open shuffle any of the Bucks up or down in the rankings? The results from MSU look to be about as favorable as they could possibly be for the Bucks. Even without Logan, Courts, and Hunter they seemed to fare about as well as they should have.

And we appreciate it!
That layout gives a great visual of how tough that tournament is.

I don't recall the field being this deep in the past. Adding Minny and Cornell really makes this a stellar event.

It will be interesting to see where Nate, Bo and Snyder get seeded. Nate and Bo had great RS years and all of them are ranked high and are off to good starts but where will that get them seeded.

Seeds are interesting! - But what really matters is where they end up when the tournament is complete!!!

I like that this tourney is so tough so early. The 3 freshman have Logan Stieber-like work mentalities. They are the kind of guys that can take some lumps in this tourney and then make adjustments in plenty of time prior to March. This will be a good thing for them no matter how it shakes out (other than injury of course).
