What!? Are you Ben Golden!?!?!?!?! What kind of bad news bear-er are you!?!?!?!
What is the criteria for a medical redshirt? Is he guaranteed one?

Oh, Woe is me!
Truthfully my reaction is mixed. If he doesn't get a redshirt for this, then this is the second worse scenario I can think of (with the worst being that he suffered a career-ending injury or died).
If he does get a redshirt for this, this allows him a year to improve and come out stronger for his freshman year (whenever that may be).

Ben, I am sure you didn't mean it that way but I hope you are not equating career-ending injury with death. Something tells me the latter would be MUCH worse than the former.

so how does next year work out? Triggas should be back. Does Triggas move up to 133, Paddock RS, and Stieber stay at 125?

Can anyone tell me why Triggas just doesn't burn his redshirt now and step in at 125?

With Stieber being on the Senior latter, I assume he'll take an Olympic red-shirt next year. Triggas would be your starter.

I'm sorry this happened but it could be a good thing long term if Stieber gets the medical redshirt. Imagine a starting lineup in two years of:
125: L. Stieber (R-frosh)(Drew Stone back up)
133: I. Paddock (R-Jr) (DiJulius back up)
141: H. Stieber (R-frosh)or C. Palmer (R-Jr)
149: C. Tessari (R-frosh)
157: Demas (R soph)
165: D. Garcia (R frosh)
174: Heflin (R-Sr)
184: Magrum (R-Sr)
197: Courts (R-frosh)
285: Elor or someone else.
Key would be to bite the bullet and redshirt all the talent next season. Not an easy thing to do but an absolute no-brainer if you look at schools like Iowa and Okie State and how they go about their business. This would set the Bucks up for years to come with a great young lineup. Plus, Ohio State would have a few years to bring in the right recruits to fill in gaps. It would be tough from a win-loss perspective for next year but the dividends would pay for a long time.

Hank, while I understand your enthusiasm, it might be a bit premature to bestow college greatness on guys still in high school. Waaaaay too much can happen in the next two years.

Logan clearly has the ability to compete at the collegiate level today. Two years from now (after the presumed Olympic redshirt) he will only be better. But that's just me looking for a silver lining.

When did this happen? In practice? What did he break in HS when he couldn't wrestle at Ironman?

Questions:
If a wrestler gets injured (e.g., broken hand,) and he is deemed fit enough to rejoin the team later in the year (even though he may not be able to compete at his previous high level,) does that affect his ability to secure his Medical Hardship Waiver? Is 20% (or less) the correct percentage of the matches he can compete in and still qualify for the MHW?
Regarding Triggas:
People want him to either come out of redshirt this year and compete at 125 or compete next year at 125- assuming that Stieber takes an Olympic year. It's been pointed out by others that Triggas himself has Olympic aspirations. Maybe we don't see Stieber or Triggas again until 2012/2013.

You don't really believe that living with career-ending injury is better than dying, do you? What if Mark Niemann had been injured in January of his senior year of high school, preventing him from his fourth appearance in the Sectional Tournament? Not exactly an easy thing to bounce back from.
