Discussion Topic: Opening in Pool Tournament 1/26
Todd Vennis added to this discussion on September 5, 2007

Due to the sad turn of events at Richmond Heights, I feel I must finally post this opening to the wrestling community. I had left this spot open, and turned away several good programs in the spring, in case Richmond Heights was able to keep their program from getting cut. I realize that this is still being fought by concerned individuals in the community, however, I do fund my program from my two tournaments and need to have a full slate of teams.

Therefore, there is an opening for one team in the John Matteucci Memorial classic. A 12 team, one day, two point event, and 4 match minimum event on Jan. 26th.

We always get complemented on the efficiency that we run our tournament, since we have brought it on campus from the off campus site, and have excellent competition in the finals.

We allow JVs in when forfeits occur.

Teams committed so far:
Eastlake North
Olmsted Falls
Lake Catholic
Independence
Harvey
Cleveland Heights
North Ridgeville
Willoughby South
VASJ
Cleveland East
Lexington

Todd,
We may need another tournament to replace the Division III Classic (formerly hosted by Richmond Heights). It would be nice to support a tournament like yours which is right in our backyard. I will know more on Sunday when we have the meeting about the future of the Richmond Heights program.
