Discussion Topic: "20/20" for the big boys...
Maggie Lamantia added to this discussion on August 8, 2008

Not sure how long the final weight classes' rankings have been up on ohiowrestlingsite.com, I'm thinking about a week, but I just buzzed over there. Any comments?

I think it's awesome to see the word Freshman at the top of a LONG list of Seniors and only 3 Juniors. Phillips is the man!

P.S. - Only 44 days to move-in... but who's counting? <sign_oh>

Bob: It seems you are reluctant to tell us who until a committment. Can you give us a state? If he comes, is it a full team?

RF,
Ironman is long since full, no more full teams, that train left the station, special indiv only. No point in "naming names" until deal is done.

I hope that "deal" only means a commitment that he is coming, and nothing more. Maybe I am old and naive, but I would like to think that this is still just high school sports.

Bob, just remember how much SVSM used to get paid to send LeBron and his merry band of travelling Baptists to tournaments.

how much? --- its permissable if expenses are provided for ALL entries --- apparently was within the rules, i never heard or read different. But thats basketball with big money sponsors, wrestling is a poor mans sport.

Bob,
So, do you have a deal inked with the kid yet? What gives? Are you trying to keep us in suspense here? After Phillips' stellar freshman campaign I think you're going to be hard pressed to find somebody to push him between our coast lines. I've probably been more impressed with this kid than any I've seen around our sport in 25 years.

What exactly does "deal inked" mean with a high school kid?

If Phillips is at 189 for Ironman I am guessing that Bob is looking at Chris Perry making the trek up from Oklahoma. That would be a dynamite match!
