GREENSBORO, NC –
Live video coverage of the 2008 UNCG Southern Scuffle will be available for viewing on Spartan All Access December 29 and 30.
Live coverage will begin on Monday at 10 am ET and on Tuesday at 9 am ET from the Greensboro Coliseum's Special Events Center. Feature matches will be centralized throughout the days on two of the ten mats. Those two mats will be broadcast live the entire day to give the viewers the chance to catch the most high profile matches.
In addition, live results for the 28-team tournament will also be available at SouthernScuffle.com.
Twenty-four teams will make their return to Greensboro including Cornell, who is currently tied for third in the nation in the latest rankings, along with a total of five teams that finished in the Top 25 at the NCAA Championships last year. Making their Southern Scuffle debut are Campbell, East Stroudsburg, Franklin & Marshall and Princeton.
Log on at www.UNCGSpartans.com and click on the Spartan All Access logo to sign up. Single day packages are priced at $9.95 with weekend packages set at $16.95.
Tickets are also still available for the event. Adult tickets are $12, student tickets are $8, and children under the age of 5 are free. Fans can purchase tickets from the Greensboro Coliseum by visiting the box office Monday though Saturday, 11am-6pm or by calling (336) 852-1100. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Seven into the quarters for KSU (Nic Bedelyon 125, Danny Mitcheff 133, Drew Lashaway 141, Obie Simpson 165, Dustin Kilgore 184, Eric Chine 197 and Jermail Porter 285).
Two others that made the round of 16 lost heart-breaking matches against top seeds (Brandan Barlow to the first seed at 285 5-4 and Ross Tice to the second seed 6-4).
The two others still going are Mallie Shuster at 157 and Chris Estep at 174.

Matthew - Kent is having a great tournament, without a doubt, but I think the quarters is the next round, not semis.

Shuster lost 5-4 to Sean Dong. UVA, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion have all emerged as rising programs under good coaches. All three programs have actively recruited Ohio wrestlers.

Five Golden Flashes in the semis (Nic Bedelyon, Danny Mitcheff, Drew Lashaway, Dustin Kilgore and Jermail Porter) while Obie Simpson and Eric Chine are in the wrestlebacks. Simpson lost a close match 6-5.

Head Coach Jim Andrassy
On the second day of the tournament:
"We wrestled pretty well the second day. Our guys fought hard. We still need to work on certain positions that we are not doing the best with. They did a good job and took third behind the third-ranked team in the country with Cornell and a top-20 team in Edinboro."
On Porter and Kilgore’s championships
“Both of them pretty much dominated the tournament. They are both ranked in the top-10 and didn’t have a close match all tournament. They are both doing the right things. Jermail is getting better and better. The additions on our coaching staff of bringing in Andrew Wolf has helped Kilgore out a lot.
On Brendan Barlow placing the last two tournaments:
“Barlow beat the tenth-ranked wrestler in the country (Zach Hammond of Cornell) at this tournament and had the 7th-ranked wrestler (Mitch Monteiro) on the ropes. He gets better every time he wrestles. We are not going to miss a beat with him after Jermail Porter graduates. We are pretty good position to have a guy like Barlow to also push Jermail. He is a typical heavyweight. He is very active and does not have a problem wrestling big guys because he works with Jermail, so he is used to it. Barlow does a really good job in the room and it is starting to translate to his matches.”
On Bedelyon overcoming a rough start:
“Bedelyon is wrestling as good as he has ever wrestled. He had a rough start and we had to work through some things. He is wrestling very good and that was a pretty loaded weight class. He has beaten Kyle Fluke of Edinboro (4-3 at the Oklahoma Gold) who took second. He gave the returning national champion at 125 the best match of the tournament. The match was a lot closer than the score shows. He is on the right track and I am excited for him.”
