I truley believe a state duals tournament would spark more intrest in wrestling over all in Ohio. I see it as positive move for wrestling in Ohio.

PA has district duals that feed into a state dual meet bracket.
This was the bracket in 3A for 2008

8 teams auto qualify to the site of the event, 8 teams have to play-in to the event earlier that week. Of those 8 to auto qualify, four get byes to the quarters while four wrestle the four that play-in to qualify.
Depending on past district performance, districts get 1, 2, or 3 to qualify from their tournament.
Note that PA has a very different state tournament structure than Ohio in terms of "definitions".

I love the idea of having a state dual tournament.
Consider this...
According to the OHSAA, there are 521 schools with wrestling teams as of the 2008-2009 season.
Division 1 has 170 teams
Division 2 has 175 teams
Division 3 has 176 teams
170 ÷ 4 = 42-43 teams per district
175 ÷ 4 = 43-44 teams per district
176 ÷ 4 = 44 teams per district
42 ÷ 4 = 10 or 11 teams per section
43 ÷ 4 = 10 or 11 teams per section
44 ÷ 4 = 11 teams per section
For the sectional tournament, you have a 16-team bracket. It would be great to do consolation (because districts will be uneven) but I don't think that will be an option here.
A team will have 3-4 duals within their section. Only four teams (the sectional champs) move on to the district bracket, so add 2 duals. Only four teams move on to the state bracket so add 2 duals.
So, overall, a team who went as far as possible in the state dual tournament would have 7-8 duals "added" by the state dual tournament series. By contrast, a team who lost in the first round would only have 1 dual. That might be a bit of a scheduling problem.

The state duals would have to be run as non-points like the individual states. Also may want to consider having a districts and state tournament only. Take the top 16 teams in each district by division(buy some sort of points criteria). Then take the top 4 teams to state.This way there are only 2 additional weekends.
