Johnstone will resume the starting spot.

as they say in poker, that MN dual was a Bad Beat , at home, ugh !

Buckeyes have their 5, but to be a top 2 team again need at least 2 more to emerge as pointgetters in st Louis, from Triggas, Johnstone, Rella, Gardner and Morrsion.

I thought Nemec looked good and wish he could continue to get more experience. He gave Safratowich a tougher match than Johnstone based on the fact he hit two nice shots and got out once on bottom. (Safratowich rode Johnstone into the ground). I like Nemec's upside.

The problem for Ohio State is that Nemec doesn't have enough matches to likely qualify for Nationals without a high finish at Big Tens. He's not going to get ranked without some wins and he's not going to get many with what's left of the schedule. Johnstone is probably a qualifier. I think that's playing into the decision making because otherwise there's not a lot of reason not to continue wrestling Nemec. At least that's how I see it.

Here's a question on the new system:

If Nemec wins the starting job late in the year, could that cost the Big Ten a qualifier at that weight, in essence making it more difficult for Nemec to get out?

I think Rella is starting to fit into the lineup. He's got some momentum with wins over Indiana and Minn., and was in bouts with Cornell and Hofstra (ranked opponents) up until the last 30 seconds. The match against Wright (Penn State) will be interesting this weekend.
