Got to see another epic dual meet today at St. Edward.

---

103 pounds: Alfredo Gray (Wadsworth) pin Nick Barber (St. Edward) 1:33

Team Score: 6-0 Wadsworth

---

112 pounds: Gus Sako (St. Edward) dec. Kagan Squire (Wadsworth) 2-0

Brilliantly wrestled match by Sako. He seems to be really coming on following up his win over Evan Silver with another huge one here.

Team Score: 6-3 Wadsworth

---

119 pounds: Jamie Clark (St. Edward) won by forfeit

Team Score: 9-6 St. Edward

---

125 pounds: John Cobos (St. Edward) tf. Alex Gray (Wadsworth) 15-0

This is probably the best I have ever seen Cobos wrestle. Wadsworth's gamble (bumping up the senior Gray and forfeiting at 119 pounds) backfires as they give up 11 points in two matches.

Team Score: 14-6 St. Edward

---

130 pounds: Matt Van Curen (St. Edward) dec. Dan Foore (Wadsworth) 4-2

Van Curen is very slick from his feet, reminds me of Nemec as a freshman. He is going to be very good.

Team Score: 17-6 St. Edward

---

135 pounds: Anthony Salupo (St. Edward) dec. Louden Gordon (Wadsworth) 15-8

Team Score: 20-6 St. Edward

---

140 pounds: Collin Palmer (St. Edward) dec. Brad Squire (Wadsworth) 3-0

This was just a horsepower issue. Squire looked huge, but Palmer never got out of position, and Squire never got any offense going.

Team Score: 23-6 St. Edward

---

145 pounds: Nate Ball (Wadsworth) dec. Matt Tusick (St. Edward) 3-1

Team Score: 23-9 St. Edward

---

152 pounds: Sheldon Brandenburg (Wadsworth) dec. Jay Suvak (St. Edward) 5-4 OT

Suvak is a good looking freshman, tall but muscular for 152. Bradenburg gutted this one out despite being beaten on while on bottom. He still looks small for the weight, but that is to be expected at this point.

Team Score: 23-12 St. Edward

---

160 pounds: Nick Sulzer (St. Edward) md. Aarick Jones (Wadsworth) 19-9

Pretty much the same as last time. Sulzer knew he was in control and spent the whole match trying to get as many takedowns as possible to get the tech, but was unable to.

Team Score: 27-12 St. Edward

---

171 pounds: Bart Randolph (Wadsworth) dec. Chris Cvetic (St. Edward) 9-4

Cvetic hung tough, but was very undersized here. Randolph did what he needed to.

Team Score: 27-15 St. Edward

---

189 pounds: Caleb Busson (Wadsworth) pin Ben Frantz (St. Edward) 2:47

Caleb Busson comes up huge again. While leading by 2 or so in the second, he hits a head and arm and gets the pin.

Team Score: 27-21 St. Edward

---

215 pounds: Nick Tavanello (Wadsworth) dec. Mike Green (St. Edward) 9-3

Tavanello is so good it is scary for his age. This could have been a major. Green was agressive, as always, but was caught in a cradle in the first period.

Team Score: 27-24 St. Edward

---

285 pounds: Ben Buzzelli (Wadsworth) pin Greg Kuhar (St. Edward) 3:23

Buzzelli pins Kuhar while up 11-0 in the second period. After nearly getting the pin in the first, and leading 8-0, Gramuglia smartly had Buzzelli take top to start the second and get got the fall with a cradle.
Kuhar will be good in time, but he is TINY!

Team Score: 30-27 Wadsworth wins

You were there Pat? I didn't see you. I had coverage for the Medina County paper.

Yeah, I was sitting just to the left of the media row with my dad. Busy day and I had to high-tail it out of there as soon as Buzzelli put the squeeze on Kuhar.

I'll have to admit I was calling the dual meet to St Eds after 125 -- though that was a Dewey vs Truman moment.

To me the key was that St. Edward went for the "kill" with 152/160 instead of just being patient. I think Sulzer at least majors with the possibility of a pin against Brandenburg. I also thought that Cvetic would have a chance to beat Jones at 160. It almost worked with Suvak being the hero.

I think that Busson STEPPED IT UP BIG to get a truly legit pin this afternoon.
