St Eds was generally considered a modest favorite to beat out Mass Perry and Wadsworth for a state title. After one round of championships and one of cons, Eds has already lost two wrestlers--Green and Van Curen. That means they have six scorers left.

Mass Perry took seven. Five won first round while Hannan and Hillock won their cons matches.

Wadsworth won six first round matches. Two of their three wrestlers in the cons got victories.

Right now, both Mass Perry and Wadsworth have more wrestlers still alive than Eds. In addition, Eds has no wrestlers after 152 pounds which might prove significant by Saturday. While Eds has the best group still alive, not all are locks to make the finals. Sako and Sulzer both face stiff challenges while any more advancement from Cobos would be a gift. Salupo is tough but not upset proof. Only Clarke and Palmer appear as locks to make the finals.

This race will be very interesting to watch from round to round. If Wadsworth's upper wts can keep advancing, they might pull this off.

Eds did lose two of their wrestlers. However the big thing will be for them to qualify their remaining wrestlers into the finals. They have a very good shot getting the 5 remaining wrestlers into the finals.

Wadsworth will have to get some breaks to make a run for the championship right now I think if all hold Eds will still win the title.

Eds lost Salupo and has 4 in the semis. So does Wadworth. Eds has one wrestler in the cons; Wadsworth has 3. Biggest matchup will be Kagen Squire v Gus Sako. That match may determine the title.
