Discussion Topic: Senior Wrestlers: Baker U. Recruiting for Inaugural Season
Dan May added to this discussion on March 8, 2009
Baker University is located just outside of Kansas City in Baldwin, Kansas. They will begin their inaugural NAIA season in 2009. The Head Coach is Jimmy May, who was recently inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and is being inducted into the Nevada Sports Hall of Fame this June. He has Western roots that were set in Las Vegas where he lead the nationally ranked Eldorado Sundevils to eight straight Nevada State titles and 63 state champions including Matt Azevedo.
Coach May is looking for interested high school seniors and junior college wrestlers who are serious about wrestling at the next level.
With opportunities to wrestle at the colligate level decreasing with each year, Baker now offers Ohio wrestlers another viable option! Additionally, Baker is an academically driven, highly regarded private institution (i.e. entrance criterias are tough) that offers full scholarship, grants and financial aid.
Unfortunately, Coach May is at the moment a one man recruiter. Thus, his resources are limited until later this summer when he can hire staff... If you or yours are interested in becoming part of the new tradition at this old University, please contact Jimmy May at Baker University.
