Discussion Topic: Ken Chertow to pursue head coach position at Penn State
Josh Lowe added to this discussion on April 18, 2009

Penn State had not been recruiting PA as well as in the past. THAT changes IMMEDIATELY. This is for sure the right class for that to occur with. Alton, Alton, Peppelman, Kindig, Evans, Sherlock. And that's just a start!

I'm interested in seeing the composition of Penn State's assistant coaches. Who stays, who goes.

Iowa State will be just fine b/c in Cael's three years, all ten wrestlers qualified for NCAA every year. They went second, fifth, third at nationals. They were good before Cael as well. Chris Bono, Casey Cunningham, and Joe Heskett are the three names that came to mind immediately. Obviously others come into play b/c this is IOWA STATE.

Personally, I think Penn State has the best climactical situation in collegiate wrestling. OH-PA-NJ are the three best wrestling states. Penn State is right in the middle of it. Cael Sanderson's name brings great "branding" right now. PSU is incredibly committed to wrestling - at least their boosters are (see Lorenzo Center).
