Discussion Topic: Alex Meade opts for Oklahoma State

Well according to InterMat, Alex Meade committs to Oklahoma State, although Ohio State was amongst his final choices. Are there any blue chippers that the Buckeyes might be able to nab early?

Meade may have gone else where he chose where he felt it was the best for him. Look at who Ohio State in those weight ranges for the next few years to come and where did he truly fit in the picture in that lineup too.

I think Alex had as good of a chance if not better of stepping in at Ohio State than those others. Coach Ryan would not have gone after him so hard if he was not going to fit in. This is a kid that could thrive with great college coaching and his style may work better with Coach Smith. That being said, ohio state is going to be a force over the next few years. They have done an excellent job recruiting and it shows with the quality out of state wrestlers considering them as a top choice, kids like Oliver and Meade.

Meade and Oliver are tremendous for the Oklahoma State program. Look at how they attack in the neutral position, and you will see some stuff from the John Smith playbook. They are both VERY quick in the neutral position.
There's a reason Oklahoma State is arguably the best program in all of NCAA Division I wrestling.

Like Josh said both Oliver and Meade fit in perfectly with the Oklahoma State program with the style of wrestling they both have.
Meade could have made his way in the starting lineup but remember that Ohio State still has Palmer, Johnstone, Nemec, Sponseller and then Jameson in that range too. Then Collin Palmer in the mix when he is out of school. That is some great talent and best off it is all from Ohio.
