This just in: The nation's toughest high school wrestling tournament kicked off today. This also just in: I wasn't there for most of it. I can't imagine why they would start it without me, and I don't appreciate the fact that they did. I rolled into Cuyahoga Falls a little bit before 7:00 p.m., walked right in like I owned the place, certainly didn't bother to stop at any sort of ticket counter (truth be told I couldn't find it), and found that the second round was halfway over. As if unaffected by my fury, the tournament officials kept it all going without so much as a "We're terribly sorry. How can we make this up to you, Mr. Golden?"

At some point I got past it, right in time to appreciate the excitement the round held for St. Edward.

Keeping track of what's going on here is a bit of an overwhelming task. At any given point I'm interested in at least two matches that are going on at the same time, and other matches of interest are coming up soon, so I invariably miss half of most matches I'm interested in and am left with nothing to do but to ask the people around me "What on earth is going on?!" This tournament is too great for me to handle.

Here is the best I could do to capture some of my in-the-moment thoughts of the quarterfinals:
