At first thought, Roddy, but then I thought maybe Jameson. How can you not throw David Taylor in the mix, though?
We have a good number of excellent wrestlers in the state of Ohio.
(Thanks to ohiowrestling.net, we know more and more about them!!!)

I would say pound for pound most talented wrestler would be David Taylor. This is such an interesting topic because there are so many great wrestlers in Ohio right now. You have Roddy and Jameson leading the seniors then you have Taylor and Palmer leading the juniors too.
Ohio is deep in talent right now. My top 5 would be
1. David Taylor (St. Paris Graham)
2. Brian Roddy (Lakewood St. Edward)
3. Tony Jameson (Youngstown Austintown-Fitch)
4. Collin Palmer (Lakewood St. Edward)
5. Logan Stieber (Monroeville)

Hank - I just think that Taylor's a clear #1 in this discussion. The ability is clear (mat wrestling in a way that puts you in awe) and the credentials are staggering (double Cadet/Junior titles, and a record of "a lot"-2 with the 2 being losses in Greco before 9th grade when leading big on catches).
I think the greater discussion is for whom is #2 - Logan Stieber, Jameson, Roddy, Boyd, or Palmer.

David Taylor is awesome, but it is definitely close call to determine who is the best in the state pound for pound.
Taylor ripped through the Division 2 state tournament and Fargo again, but Logan Stieber did the same in Division 3 and at a higher weight at Fargo. Taylor defeated Stieber at the Ironman, but remember that was Stieber's first high school varsity competition ever and his only loss of the year. Taylor lost in a dual to Division 1 runner-up Jamie Clark. When we compiled the all-division rankings, we had to make a call between Taylor and Stieber and we gave the nod to Taylor because of the head-to-head win and because the win was on a big national stage.
Collin Palmer, Tony Jameson, Coby Boyd, and Brian Roddy are right up there with Taylor and Stieber.

Taylor has to be the # 1 pound for pound wrestler in the state. Like Josh said his credentials against everyone he has wrestled speak for themselves.
The battle for #2 is an interesting one with the number of wrestlers that Ohio has right now it is a very close battle.

Josh: I don't disagree. I think that any comparison of accomplishments makes clear that Taylor is #1. What I wanted from you was detail.

Taylor has the ability to float on top when wrestling he just moves with such ease and has the ability to turn people at will it seems like.
Stieber has that brute force factor when wrestling that he just simply punishes people when he wrestles them. Palmer does the exact same thing he makes people wish they never wrestled him.

There one head to head less than a year ago says different. Stieber is an exceptional wrestler, but it's much easier to get up twice a year than it is several times just during the season. Taylor had one misstep last year. But wrestled a much tougher schedule than Stieber. Stieber had to get up for Ironman and Fargo. He really wasn't challenged at any other time during the year. Taylor wrestled in Fargo, Ironman, Super 8, Junior Worlds qualifier, and dual with St Ed.
When all is said and done though, I'm sure they are both having a good laugh about all the discussion. They are apparently very good friends.

If you are talking about just folkstyle wrestling then I think it is Anthony Jameson if you are talking about all styles then it would proabably be David Taylor.

If you use that theory wouldn't the same apply to Taylor from the year before? He went to Ironman and won it over some tough competition in Sergent and Novachkov back to back to win the tournament. I think right now Taylor has to be the considered the best wrestler in the state.

I had Taylor #1 over Stieber too at the end of the year, so I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your choice.
I am asking why some seem to think it's not close.
