My only looks at CSU have been the MSU open and this dual but CSU has shown some nice fight early in the season. Little known D3 stud Alek Hughes appears to have been a better than anticipated signing by Coach Effner. And I'll make a gentleman's bet that Robbie Michaels proves to be a better wrestler in the long run than the wrestler he replaced at 157. The sense I'm getting is that CSU's room has kids with the right attitude. It's amazing what a difference that can make.

Great win for the Vikings. Cleveland State got a good one in Hughes. We could tell he had a lot of potential last year at state. Beating Nemunaitis this soon shows that he is realizing that potential quickly.

Has Schwartz officially claimed the spot from Goff?

Also wondering about the status of Hahn and Armstrong (and Mike Hurley for that matter).

Steve: Mike Hurley is injured; Armstrong is taking an olympic redshirt. Chris Hahn may or may not be part of the team. If he were to compete this year, the hope was that he could get to 184 lbs.

As to Schwartz and Goff...I don't know.

"Chris Hahn may or may not be part of the team."

I was afraid of that.

Thanks for the updates Hank.

Steve: Don't be afraid. I think that this year's CSU squad shows more promise than any in a long time. Palivoda, Michaels, Hughes and Schwartz are all impressive young wrestlers. The squad is wrestling with some flare. It seems that Jack finally has a room full of kids that are pulling in the same direction. It's good news overall for the Vikes.
