Well for the early season, Caldwell has propelled himself to #2. He'll probably stay there, as I am not sure if they're tested the rest of the year on the schedule (maybe the Scuffle - they go?).
Just saw that is was Kellen Russell who beat Jaggers to win CKLV. Russell had a GREAT tournament for the true frosh. Boy, that's a long way from losing to Tyler Nauman at the DD eight months ago.

I would say for sure he's at least #2. I wonder if Dustin can handle him. Everyone is saying that Caldwell isn't as 'solid' as O'Connor, Churella and Metcalf before those matches and his funk wouldn't work. But he has a pin, major and won rather decisively against O'Connor. I'm not so sure it's funk, but rather a highly skilled athletic wrestler who can score with low risk high percentage moves and is equaly effective with high risk low percentage moves. He's the type of wrestler who is fun to watch, and I think is good for the sport. I wonder if Caldwell's style of wrestling will casue fits to the low scoring Schlatter.

Russel was unbelievable beating former AA Headlee, Big 10 runner up Tirapelli, AA Griffith, and AA Jaggers in the finals. Pretty good day for a true freshman.

Russell had an outstanding tourney. Some highly touted frosh have a style that works well at the next level while others struggle. I think he's a classic example of a wrestler who is well suited to the college sport. Dustin, Pucillo and Palmer are others.
