Welcome to Delta, ladies and gents. wrestling "under the lights"...where was the spotlight, I must ask...just didn't have the same feel...anyway, this classic NWOAL match-up, left not much to be surprised, it was close for a little bit, at one point it was LC-21, Delta 23, but in the end the Panthers pulled out the big win with some "Pride Pride Pride" as they put it.
We started out at
145 lbs. and Pezen of LC and Gombash from Delta.
Gombash takes him down, let's him up. Takes him down, let's him up. Takes him down, sticks him with a half. Pin 1:46.

and to be honest, I don't know who was wrestling...I had some trouble understanding the announcer. ha! but....
LC tried for a single, and gets nothing. Tries a throw, out of bounds. They scramble, and Liberty ends up with a takedown. Escape Delta. Caution Delta. 2-1 Liberty Center end of the 1st period. Liberty's choice is down. Delta locks hands, 3-1 Liberty. Delta tells ref he'll optional start, then doesn't let him up, "pounces" if you will, but ends up kicking him out. THEN he hits a mad headlock and pins in 2:41.
Delta 12 Liberty 0
160 lbs bout we have Stacey of Liberty and Peter (?) of Delta.
Both are very aggressive in the beginning, Delta gets first takedown, and Liberty escapes. then Liberty gets a sweet takedown. He took a shot, and when Delta jumped back, Liberty boy took his shot all the way through and and just dumped and jumped on top. very smooth. 2 points liberty. 2-3 LC end of first.Delta chooses down, puts in the cradle, and pins in 2:54.
Delta 12 Liberty 6
171 pounds. Yant of Delta vs. Elling of Liberty.
Yant looks very solid, of course. 15 seconds in, he gets a takedown. let's Elling out. Throws, but out of bounds; nothing awarded. Throws again and gets it this time. 3 nearfall. Potentially dangerous is called on Yant, one point Elling. Yant chooses Optional Start, but still jumps on him, verrrry hard, and a loud "UH" can be heard from Elling...ha!..We are at 11-3 Delta at the end of the first. Delta chooses Neutral to start second period. Yant gets a TD early, works a 2-on-1, and "no tilts, Derick" can be heard from Coach Aring. So, needless to say, Yant tilts and receives 2 nearfall. Then switching to a cradle, pins in 3:05.
Delta 18 Liberty 6
189 lbs. McClory of LC and Godsey of Delta.
McClory throws and gets a takedown 10 seconds in. pin in :23
Delta 18 Liberty 12
at 215 lbs is Slee of LC vs. Wilson (?) of Delta.
Delta works a nearside standing up, takedown. Works a half, 2 nearfall, then a farside, 3 nearfall, and the 1st period ends 7-0 Delta. Delta chooses top. He works a half but is re-rolled, reversal 2 points for for Liberty, it's 7-2. Liberty gets two cautions, (not waiting for ref's signal i think). Liberty locks hands, but Delta gets the reversal. then three nearfall. it's 13-2 at the end of the second period. Liberty chooses neutral, then Delta gets a penalty point awarded, followed by a takedown. LC escapes, and hits a headlock. Delta fights, and recovers, taking the 2 points. 17-3. Escape Liberty. Blood Time Delta. Delta hits a double leg, and the tech is called. 19-4.
Delta 23 Liberty 12
in the Heavyweight class Schwab of LC is faced with Cornell of Delta.
Schwab's headgear flies off, twice, the ref ever-so-gracefully catching in the second time. They tie up, dance a little, and and Delta has a stalling warning. Schwab tries a throw, but nothing is awarded. 0-0 ending the first period. Delta chooses neutral. LC hits a front head, and has the first takedown. Delta stalls, and LC is awarded a point. 3-0 after second period. It's Liberty's choice, and the fans can be heard yelling "put him on top"...so Schwab chooses top, of course. Delta is called again for stalling, 1 point Liberty. And, yes, again, Delta is called for Stalling...this time two points awarded for Liberty. Liberty tells the ref he'll do optional start, then jumps on top with 8 seconds left, and rides him out. 6-0 Liberty

112- Kaiser of LC vs.Jonny Tolson (love that name!) from Delta.
Delta hits a cradle standing up, takedown. switches to a front head, then a half. three nearfall. two more nearfall. 7-0 Delta ending 1st period. Delta chooses top, hits a bar, and pins in twenty seconds. 2:20
Delta 29 Liberty 21
at 119 was a match up between someone from Liberty and Ryan Rayfield of Delta.
Rayfield gets a penalty point early, for Liberty boy scissored his head. A bit of a scramble, then Delta comes out on top with a takedown, and sticks him in :47
Delta 35 Liberty 21
coming to 125 lbs was Biddle of Liberty and Carrizales of Delta.
Nothing after one minute. Delta hits a farside, but can't get the shoulders down just right, but is awarded a TD and two back points. 4-0 Delta ending the first period. Delta chooses top. Liberty gets a caution, jumping the gun. Delta goes for ankle, but immediately switches to gain wrist control after hearing Coach yell it. nice job. Liberty gets a stalling warning. Delta works a farside, gets the left leg in, then switches to a 3/4, "off the hips" is heard over and over and over, and Delta gets a stalling warning. end with 4-0 Delta as our score once again. Liberty chooses top, Delta getting the reversal, Liberty almost rolls, but Delta regains control, and pins in 5:36.
Delta 41 Liberty 21
130 pounds brings us Peterson of Liberty and Wallace (?) of Delta.
Standing cradle by Delta, takedown. Switches to a headlock, pins in :44.
Delta 47 Liberty 21
Welcome to the match of the evening. 135 pounds.Renschler of LC and Reid Rayfield of Delta.
Both try try try, but it's 1-0 Liberty ending the first period. (Liberty was awarded a penalty, don't' ask me what it was for..the people behind me didn't know either..) Delta chooses top. Tells the ref optional start, but jumps on him. Liberty escapes, then gets a takedown, it's 4-0 Liberty. Delta fights aand escapes. 4-1 Liberty to end the 2nd period. Liberty chooses neutral. Liberty tries an ankle, Delta tries a front head lock, but Delta goes for a single, and gets the Takedown. Delta goes nearside, but LC gets out all but one leg, and Delta pulls him back under. Liberty reverses, 3-6 Liberty and they're out of bounds with 8 seconds left. Liberty Kicks out Delta, 4-6, and Delta manages a takedown.
OVERTIME!
They tie up. Delta with the single, a bit of a scramble, and Liberty ends up on top. 8-6.
Delta 47 Liberty 24
ending the evening was Westhoven vs. Keller (?) at 140 pounds.
Liberty gets a takedown early, tries a farside, and the legs are in. Stalemate. Delta tries a switch, but LC stops him with a crossface. it's 2-0 Liberty ending the first. Liberty chooses top. He's high, and can't get both legs in. They're neutral. Liberty get's a takedown, goes for a farside, but let's go. Delta gets out the back door, and they're neutral. Liberty gets a takedown and it's 6-2 Liberty ending the second period. Delta chooses neutral. Liberty goes for a single, but Delta catches his leg and gets the takedown. with 1:15 left, Liberty gets and escape making it 4-7. Stalling is called on LC, Delta is awarded a point, making it 5-7. Delta gets a takedown to tie it up, but pulls ahead with some backpoints that never got awarded because he pinned with four seconds left. 5:56

Maggie, thanks for the run down on the match. It was almost like being there. Did Jordan(Wally) Smith wrestle for Delta? If so what weight class? Brad is still talking to J.D. about the Michigan dual. Take care. Mr. H. <sign_oh> <sign_io>

Maggie, I was interested in Wally, because he and Brad are good friends along with Ryan, Johnny, Reid(pieface) and Derek (of the Fargo 5). You will have to ask Brad about pie face and the Fargo 5. Mr. H.
