What is going on with OU? Eastern Michigan has been the MAC doormat for the last several years. Can anyone explain to me why the Bobcats, which looked to be a team on the rise last season, is getting hammered by Eastern and finishing very close to the bottom in Vegas?

It does not look good but you have to take a lot of things into account this season with the Bobcats. They had two upperclassmen who they were depending on quit at the start of the season. These two really left them hanging and let their teammates down. They also lost Caleb Metcalf to injury which is a guy they were looking to have a big season. They lost their 197 because he did not want to attend class, lost another highly touted recruit due to a lack of academic motivation, and lastly had a big guy decide he wanted to play football. Take all of that into account, and this looks to be a building year. You have to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. They have a very talented freshmen class in the room and only one upperclassmen in the lineup right now. Freirichs is looking tough, Ison continues to improve and I think Tucker will turn some heads this year. Not to mention the return of Jason Marshall. I think Greenlee has gotten rid of the guys who just "want to be there" and now has a team that wants to turn the corner. Again, this may be a rough year, but it will get better very soon.

We can't forget the addition of DelPorto as the EMU coach.
