Anyone know if any Buckeyes will be there this weekend or of any big name teams will be there?

Did some research. Looks like it is pretty decent from looking at last years results.

Big name teams? Well... Notre Dame College will be there...

Click here for CSU Open Brackets

Not very many starters at this for any schools. I had a problem with them not announcing the names of the kids as to what mat they where on. Many kids were not wearing their school colors and I don't't know many by there faces. I missed a lot of matches I would have liked to see because I did not who was out there.
Nemec looked good. He can cause a great deal of pain. Morrison is small.
Marc Hoff from Central Michigan and Liberty Center did well.
Hope everyone made it home safely. There was probably a lot of long rides in the snow.

John--thanks for bringing up this tourney. One of the results I found interesting was Mike Miller beating Mike Benefiel 10-3 in the finals at 165. These two dominated the weight class.

Mike Benefiel really looked good last year. He will, of course, be joined by Welch and Roddy at Northwestern next year.

Mike Miller should come back to CMU's starting lineup next year, loaded for bear.

Redshirt year for Goff, I guess.

I thought Nemec looked exceptional against the Central Mich. guy who beat Victor Crenshaw. Sean pinned him after some nice scrambles & TD's. that's the kind of match that I like to see him in, not one of those pushover ones. He'll be tougher next year if he faces some real tough kids this year.

157 will be interesting. Johnstone has been wrestling tough and recently beat Guerra 13-5 and lost to Henning 1-0. Next year should be a battle between Johnstone and Nemec for the 157 spot. In a scenario where Sponseller moves up to wrestle 174 Nemec could slide up 165 and Johnstone remain at 157.
