I'm watching Ben Sergent wrestling live. Video is great. He's on mat 3.

He goes down 4-2.

It's really too bad that the DI championships don't have the live video feeds like this does. Many cable companies don't grant you access to ESPNU.

Tywan Claxton, King College, a True freshmen from Brush High School, in South Euclid, Ohio just became a NCAA D-II All American at 141 lbs. Congrats Tywan....one of the most determine, hardest working kids I have ever known.

A quick look through the DIII brackets and here are the guys that will finish as All-Americans (I may have missed one or two)...

141 Malave (Mount Union)
157 Letcher (Ohio Northern)
157 Dukes (Case Western)
165 Myers (Olivet)
174 Kwiat (Ohio Northern)
184 Ajayi (Wesleyan)
184 Rhoads (Wabash)
285 Hesson (Mount Union)

Interesting note about Ohio wrestlers in the 184lb cons bracket: Jenkins (Mt. U) lost in the 1st round and was defeated by Schott (Merchant Marine), who was then defeated by Ajayi (Wesleyan).

Also, I've got to give a shout out to my alma mater, Messiah College, for producing multiple All-Americans for the first time in a while!

As an ONU grad, I hate to report that Lechter will not AA. He actually lost AA round.

Mike,

Thanks for posting. Tell your little bro, Jeff congrats on placing at State as a sophomore. Awesome accomplishment. I heard that coach gave you the whistle to run practice in order to prep the guys for State. 7 placers & 2 champs..great job. Your destined to be a great coach one day.

Shout out to Jefferson Ajayi (Shaker Heights, Wesylan University), and Tywan Claxton (Brush, King College) For both earning NCAA All-American honors. Both are local boys from the eastern suburbs of Cleveland who were members of the Ohio Storm Disney Dual team that I coach for past three years. Both fine young men.

Wow! Huge tourney for Findlay. I wasn't expecting so much out of the Roughnecks. Shawn Nelson continues to prove he's one of the best D2 coaches in the nation.

I believe that Ashland had four AA's. Congrats to Tim Dernlan and Shawn Nelson on their great work.

And second year Lake Erie College wrestling, a brand new D2 program, also had an AA. Kevin Hoogenboom has done a very nice job as well.

Wait until Notre Dame joins the Ohio D2 fray next season.
