Buckeyes are 2-0 on the day. Smashed Greensboro 39-6. Only loss was at 197 where Weakley gave up the fall to a tough Burns. They then punished Findlay 47-0. Nice to see Johnstone beat a 2x DII national champ Guerra 13-6. Things look good for Jason. Bergman with two first period pins! Next up is Ohio U at 5:00 PM.

Ohio State crushed Ohio U 45-3. Only win for OU was a double OT victory at 197 by Chris Iammarino over John Weakley. Iammarino is a good wrestler when he feels he has nothing to lose.

Noteable: J.D. wrestled Tim Samson as OU shelved Marshall for this match. Also, Jaggers pinned Lindsey and Johnstone pinned Tucker (who was pushed up to 157).
Perhaps even more noteable was Sponseller's TF win over Jacob Ison. Ison had a terrific season last year; this year he has not looked as impressive. I'm surprised that Frerichs and Marshall were both held out against the Buckeyes.

Marshall looked bad in his 2 prior matches, so I guess they figured with the match so out of hand, what was the sense? BTW, props to Johnstone who put Guerra on his back twice, nearly pinning him at the edge of the mat, and Colt Sponseller who TF a guy everyone thought might give him a tough match. Colt is something else to watch. He had that relentless style of offense that he had in HS, and he's getting out from bottom position better than the Wisc. match. He has soooo many weapons offensively. Coaches were telling him to keep TD his guy, do this, do that, and he was doing exactly what they were telling him. They would say "if you can ride him for 45 seconds. (or whatever) then do it, if not cut him lose." OSU did what they were supposed to do to UNC, OU & Findlay. No surprises. Next match should be a real test against KSU in Jan. <thumbsup> Humphrey/Mitcheff, Jaggers/Lashaway, Gross/Johnstone, Bergman/Porter WOW!
