John Hiles from Columbus St. Francis DeSales got 2nd place. Here is Jason Bryant's account of his finals match against Nick Cook from Fauquier, VA:

"Scoreless first. Cook goes up 1-0 with a second period escape. Double stall, both get a point. Hiles gets free, ties it up 2-2. Another double stall, 3-3 with :39 to go. Overtime. No scoring. Tiebreakers: Hiles escape, 4-3. Cook trying to get out and Hiles hit for stalling and that's a two-pointer and Cook's going to get the 5-4 win."

Kyle Lang from Brecksville took 3rd at 140 pounds. Jeremy Johnson from Brecksville took 5th at 285. Chris Canty from DeSales took 8th at 145. Brecksville finished the highest of the three Ohio teams there as they took 14th place with 65.5 points. Boardman was 30th with 48 points. DeSales was 40th with 37.5 points.

With Lang wrestling 140 does that mean he has lost his certification now at 130 if he did certify. I couldn't imagine him wrestling that high without weighing that much especially at Beast.
Beast just seemed to be down this year. Not very dramatic in terms of huge names like in years past. I know they had Pepplemans, Courts, Meade, Wright and the Blair guys but compared to Ironman just not as impressive.
I would love to see both Graham and Eds return to this next year and wrestle in it against Blair.

Other notable performances:
Pasquale @ 103, 4-2, lost co16
Zupko @ 112, 3-2
Marks @ 125, one match short of placing, lost to 6th (Holcomb) and 3rd (Shields) place finishers
Liggit @ 140, 4-2, lost co16
DeMarinis @ 160, 5-2 one match short of placing, lost to Hynson and Wechsler
In terms of certification, it's early and kids can re-cert. However, it could just be that Lang ends up choosing 140 instead of 130 or 135.
