This was reported on Twitter. @Andy_Hamilton: Freshman Nate Skonieczny has left the team. Door is open on Iowa's end for a return.

Wow something big must have happened, to walk away like that.

I wonder if this is a case of being homesick. He is a twin, and I did see something on twitter before he left for Iowa about being away from his twin brother for the 1st time ever. Hope he makes the right decision from himself. Wouldn't mind seeing him in C-bus, but I really thought he was a great fit for Iowa.

Didn't his brother (Chase) wrestle at Kent? Nic is at Findlay right?

Chase is now on the roster at NDC. If Nate is gone for good, I see Kent as a good fit.

Quote from Hank Kornblut's post:

"Chase is now on the roster at NDC. If Nate is gone for good, I see Kent as a good fit."

That's what I was thinking Hank, but I don't know the circumstances around Chase leaving Kent. If he didn't have a positive experience there, I wouldn't think Kent would be in the picture.

My guees is he (Nate) gets some tough brotherly love and returns to Iowa.

I would have figured Chase would have graduated by now.

As for the circumstances that led to him moving, I imagine Tyler Small, Marcel Clopton, Ian Miller, etc. blocking his spot in the starting lineup may have had something to do with it. Maybe not though.

Wonder what the issue was, but if the door is open on Iowa's end I would imagine it is something along the lines of home-sickness. Of course I say this with no inside knowledge whatsoever.

Did see Nate in the Iowa Practice video on Flo... definitely a surprise.

From an interview with Brands on Nov 7th. Nate is still listed on their roster. Anyone heard anything more on this?

Q. Can you elaborate on the two incoming freshmen?
COACH BRANDS: True freshman from a year ago. We like our freshman class. I mentioned four names. I can mention a lot more. It's no secret what happened with Nate Skonieczny. We don't like that, but we like the class as a whole. We're moving forward with them. I think I mentioned five now that I think about it. I can mention Burak and Meyer and Brooks and Gilman and Clark, and Connor Ryan and Topher Carton, and I mentioned the guy that left. We liked that class.
