285: No. 2 Brooks Black (Blair Academy, N.J.) 285 Aaron Bradley Nazareth 113-19

mighty Tomasello could lose to old bitter rival Cruz. Heil has edge over Diehl whose coming up from 126.

i expect Abounader to show he's the # 1 in nation at 182 vs Morris who he should have met in Ironman but for Abounader injury. Bo Jordan must have turned down invite. ...s/BobP

Diehl, Retherford and Racciato are all real good - should be great matches. weircioch is also very good. (Pitt has a good recruiting class, with Racciato, Weircioch and Schram coming in)

Too bad Bo is not wrestling - would have liked to see him. And some of PA's better wrestlers are still juniors - Marsteller and Haines.

Cruz/Tomasello match should be the highlight. Wish it were televised.

Add Edgar Bright to that list.

I did not think Heil looked good at state. I hope it was jitters and that he can relax and perform at the DD.

He did. In an interview with GOhio (conducted by Zeb Miller) he stated he wanted to heal up for the upcoming college season. (pssst: He's attending Ohio State.)

You're right, my mistake. I had it in my mind that 3 top PA recruits were headed for Pitt and thought it was Schram.

i do wish Bo would have gone over there to show just how good he is, for all doubters. Unfortunately PA doesnt have a real good senior at 160.

With Marsteller droping to 160, Flo & AWN have jumped to stick Mar in at #1 ahead of Bo-- i think that is debatable though both are truly great.

fyi, Fickel of WRUSA mag sticking with Bo at # 1, and Dan knows his stuff. InterMat hasnt updated in a while. ...s/BobP

I saw an interview they did with Bo at OAC states and he says he has a back issue and I thought he said a torn labrum but he was ok and taking some time off to heal up and get ready for college.

He also said Micah was looking at Iowa, Penn State, Purdue and Ohio State.

It's Racciato, Solomon, and Wiercioch who anchor the Pitt class from a PA native side of things.

And InterMat will also go Chance Marsteller number one this week. At the end of the day, the Marsteller number one decision comes down to quality wins. Just this weekend alone, Chance beat an equivalent number of nationally ranked opponents (both by major decision) to the number of ranked opponents Bo Jordan saw all year.

i understand rankers choosing Mar over Bo, no problem--

but in this case i'm going with Dan Fickel opinion of ability-- the guy is a true veteran expert, he told me so many over the years, called greatness for kids like david taylor and logan stieber and felipe martinez and chris phillips while they were 6th graders. ...s/BobP

Did he ever even weigh in at 160, in a P.A. news article Marstellar was quoted as saying that he only dropped because of a 3 pound allounce and that he would have never been able to reach 160 otherwise. Unfair to rank someone at a weight that they never actually held in my opinion

I thought you had to make scratch weight at least once? I think that's how it was when I was in HS, anyway. Things change, Mox.

I thought you got certified at your lowest weight before the season started, so that's when he would have weighed 160? But I'll be the first to admit I don't know the weight rules.
