Right Ethan!! Good lord! All I said he didn't look sick. That doesn't mean he wasn't. Just my observation. Didn't think it was that serious. I don't recall calling anyone a liar.

This is not about wrestling but can be a factor in a wrestler's readiness to wrestle. As I was growing up and into my late twenties I had the flu once or twice every year. One day I read an artical in the newspaper that was very enlightening. It claimed that a lot of people think they have the flu but really have food poisoning. It's from eating turkey that has been left out to pick on and not refrigerated after a holiday meal. I recalled how I had the so called flu around many holidays. Since insisting turkey be refrigerated after the holiday meal I have not had the flu in over forty some years. I strongly recomend coaches make it a point to caution their teams to this. I would hate for them to find out the hard way and not be at their best when competing. I have no idea if this applies to now but I think is good information to have anyhow. Sorry to be a little off the subject but I think it is somewhat related.

HA! I don't play a doctor on TV, BUT….I tell patients all of the time, if you question whether you have ever had the flu (influenza), then you've never had it. Same is true for gout.
Remember, influenza (or the flu) is characterized by severe muscle aches, fever, and then usually a severe upper respiratory tract infection (rarely involves any GI symptoms). It knocks you down for 4-7 days. What everyone on in this country calls the flu is usually gastroenteritis and is quite often the result of a minor food poisoning of some type as you suggested. A significant case of staph food poisoning will keep you in the bathroom spewing from both ends for 4-5 days. Of course all of this is dangerous for the really young and then the old alike as well as anyone we certain risk factors like COPD, diabetes, or immunocompromise.
In any event, if the boys had any of this it certainly would have knocked them for a loop and it would take a week or two to get back to full speed (as far as competing at the top of D1 wrestling is concerned).

65 posts already; this thread should be epic in five years...
So here are my meager thoughts on BoJo based on his interviews and observations of JJ camp over the years:
It seems to me that a number of times the "high profile" wrestlers (especially in Flo interviews) are fairly pointed in regard to lofty goals (World Team, Olympics, etc.) at a fairly young age.
Lots of competition, lots of talent, statistically difficult goals.
When I listen to BoJo, there is a subtle "A Country Boy Can Survive" vibe to his articulation which leaves me with the impression that the ultimate goal would be to be an undefeated 4x NCAA champion who segues to the family wrestling camp conglomerate upon graduation, satisfied with continuing life back home in St. Paris.
I think he has been bred, raised, and trained to be an folkstyle/NCAA wrestler and we will have a unique privilege in watching his college career unfold.

So Isaiah Martinez finished 3rd (?) at the Midlands @ 157 lbs...
Marky Mark, give us the "transitive property" analysis in light of BoJo beating IMar twice (or thrice)?

Denied on grounds of inadvertent blasphemy.
BoJo beats IMar + IMar beats ZeJo = BoJo beat ZeJo.
Because we all know that the transitive property of wrestling always holds true. : )
