The loss of Nick Heflin cannot be overlooked.

C.P.: I have a great deal of respect for your wrestling knowledge and evaluation of young wrestlers, but isn't that statement extremely conservative.

OSU was sixth this year with 57 points, with the bulk of that produced by two wrestlers (with Logan returning). We all know that a lot goes into a successful year, including health, discipline and motivation, and the steady advancement of young wrestlers, but it seems to me that the potential is there for a lot better than 'top 5' next year for Ohio State.

I understand that the freshmen and red-shirts have to prove themselves, but with guys stepping in like Bo Jordan, Kyle Snyder, Nate Tomasello, and Hunter Stieber, help is on the way. Also, Nick Tavenello and Kenny Courts were both Round of 12 guys, and Johnni DiJulius and Mark Martin have good AA potential also. Whoever fills in at 155, whether Josh Demas or Micah Jordan, they should be competitive also.

It could be argued that OSU has at least 'marginal' top 8 candidates at all 10 positions next year. - I don't think any other team in the nation could remotely make that claim (except, maybe Minnesota).

Apparently you do not place great belief in Tom Ryan's statement that this team has the potential to score over 140 points next year.

Are you saying that if Nick and Kyle Snyder took the mat tomorrow, that Nick would easily win?

Kyle is a 'World Junior Freestyle Champion', that has been training at the US Olympic Center with Kilgore (and holding his own) for the last 6 months.

Expecting Snyder to reproduce what Heflin did is being a tad optimistic. The guy is good, no doubt but expecting a second place finish right out of the gate is pretty lofty.

Seeing the team score 140 points would be terrific but also optimistic. Penn State had 7 AA this year. Seeing the Bucks have 7 next year would be great. Too many "what ifs" right now. We have no idea how the new guys are going to withstand the season. All sorts of variables.

I really don't think it is. He lost to Cox 1-0 1-0 so he isn't to far behind and I would argue he has has better training partners then Cox over the last year. But I guess we will find out in less then a year from now.

C.P.'s statement is highly likely true.... If he's wrong and they don't finish top 5, a whole bunch of stuff went very wrong ;-)

I recommend the Pyle-driver to cure that burning problem. Is that what you were looking for Niemann?

More conventional treatments involve doughnuts, sits baths, and some Anusol...

Occasional removal with an anoplasty can't be left out of the equation.

I'll bet (barring injury) that OSU scores more points next year at 149 and 197 combined next year than they did this year, despite the loss of NCAA finalist Heflin at 197. Any takers? ;-)

Not a difficult assertion with Hunter back in the line-up. I suspect that will be true. Hunter is a proven 2x semi-finalist who will be better than ever (barring injury). Snyder will score more points at 197 than Paddock did at 149 this year (barring injury or complete collegiate break down).

The two weak weights for TOSU (74, 84, 97)will be comparable to Iowa's weak weights: 141 149 and 157.

The upside and title contention is all TOSU. This is their time to win it all. If not them, then who? I don't think an Iowa team can be trusted to peak at NCAA's after the last few showings.
