Rob Anspach has resigned as head coach at Hofstra. Another one bites the dust there since Tom Ryan helped build that place up. Another opportunity opens up for someone else to take the reins

Hofstra... Certainly not a power-house program, but definitely a team with some clout (thanks, tNDG). If they could land the right guy - whoever that may be - could they make a jump into solid top 12, or even top 10 territory? Or is the deck stacked against them given the environment (location, size, etc.)?
It would seem to me that tNDG had them producing well, but was that as far as anyone could take them?

There's enough talent in NY/NJ/PA that Hofstra can pick up talent that Cornell doesn't get dibs on. Granted, they may not challenge for NCAA titles, but they can be competitive.

Troy Nickerson to Northern Colorado.
Is he a little green (young/inexperienced) for this? I certainly with him the best, but just wondering.

Dave Bolyard Assumes Job at EMU
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Eastern Michigan
announced Wednesday, June 25, that seven-year
EMU associate head wrestling coach David
Bolyard will take over the helm of the EMU
wrestling program effective immediately. The
search began following the resignation of eightyear
head coach Derek DelPorto in late May.
my comment: Springfield native Dave Bolyard wrestled at Central Michigan-- in high school had greater career though i believe never a state champ, losing exciting semis in OT 14-11 to Nate Yetzer i recall. -- Bolyard won NHSCA seniors, 2nd in fargo jr free to Harvard great Jesse Jantzen i believe.

Bolyard one of many greats from Akron Springfield. Springfield was a great public school program during the 1990's--Anthony Gary and Bo James also competed for Springfield. They had a tough light weight who was bald that my assistant coach used to call "Charlie Brown". Can't think of his name but he competed hard.
There were many others as well but age has dried up the memory banks.

Incidentally, David Bolyard adds another Ohio native to the D1 coaching ranks. We lost Hinkel, Heskett and Boardwine however.
Ohio D1 Coaches:
Bolyard
Heffernan
Pariano
Effner
Andrassy
McFarland
