It would be foolish to not buy up the expertise of our various members during the lag time until the next big wrestling event.
Hank,
Whenever I buy bacon at the store, the bottom 33%-50% is often solid fat.
Now I understand that bacon is not good training food.
Conversely, none of us has ever had a bad piece of bacon, thus it is a staple of the Hayes family meal plan.
In the opinion of a meat professional, should I go to a butcher to seek out bacon with more meat on it or what?
Any bacon counsel you could give would be appreciated. (No joke.)
(Niemann, go!)

Bacon!? Ha!!! That's what I cook other MCs like! A whole pound of'm, even!
I recently purchased some bacon at a farmers market. It wasn't too much different from store-bought as far as taste is concerned. But it's nice to support the local economy.
As it just so happens, I purchased the bacon from the same group I purchased my steaks I'll be eating today, as well as some hickory smoked pepper jack cheese! Dee-lish!
I'll tell you what Hank has been tempting me with lately... salmon!!! That stuff looks divine!!!

Justin: Good question. I purchase whole slabs of smoked, rindless bacon. It's unsliced and usually has plenty of meat. But occasionally one of the slabs is too fatty. No one wants to buy bacon that is mostly fat.
General rule of thumb--more expensive bacon will have more actual meat.
While exceptions occur, you're better off if you pay more than if you buy the cheap stuff. Cheap bacon is priced to sell because it's mostly fat.

Buying up the opportunity to apply wisdom from Mr. Brisket, I purchased some delicious (albeit more expensive) bacon and whipped it up this morning for the Hayes clan.
Actual meat? Totally worth the price.
Niemann, go!
