Discussion Topic: Fall wrestling officials class in Central Ohio
Fred Feeney added to this discussion on August 31, 2014

Want to officiate high school wrestling? My fall class starts Oct 6th at Dublin Davis Middle school.
The course name "Are you a duck?" is based on if you see a creature and it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck and waddles like a duck, you can be pretty sure it is a duck. Same with being a referee. You must act like one, look like one and move like one, then everyone will have no doubt you are one!
This class is designed to bring the new wrestling referee up to speed quickly with a thorough knowledge of the rules and proper mechanics. Using video, handouts, dvd's, and actual on mat referring, you will learn the basic skills quickly. Classes are every Monday night 7-9pm Oct 6th - Dec 1st, 2014
The instructor, with 26 years officiating experience, Frederick Feeney is a OHSAA certified instructor and has taught 2 new officials classes a year for the past 16 years. He has written many papers and articles on the mechanics of officiating as well as the personal inside stories as to what officiating is really about. Fred's in-depth experience encompasses both scholastic and collegiate levels, having worked the prestigious NWCA National Duals, The Midlands, The Cliff Keen Las Vegas Tournament, plus many top level D1 dual matches. Fred works primarily the Big Ten Conference, along with M.A.C., O.A.C., and G.L.I.A.C. matches. His post season work has included numerous OHSAA State Wrestling Tournaments, the Senior Nationals, NCWA Nationals, and 14 NCAA Division III Championships and 3 NCAA II Championship finals.
