Discussion Topic: Ohio State v. Kent State Preview
Mark Niemann added to this discussion on November 12, 2014

Quote from James Kessen's post:

"On yappi someone posted Bo and Hunter wouldn't be wrestling anyone know if this is true or not?"

I do not know for certain.

I'd hate to say one way or the other and then be wrong.

Rumor has it that DePalma is still out with injury. Campbell will get the nod at 184.

It's early in the season and I'm sure Coach Ryan and his staff are focused on having their guys ready to go for Vegas--at the earliest. The truth is that this dual means nothing in terms of team goals.

Having said that--I am looking forward to Miller v Demas. Miller looked tough in the all star meet and was astonishing at University Freestyle. As for Demas, I thought he did a nice job at MSU. He's not the type to beat up on guys but he has a Nick Heflin-eseque ability to manage matches. Both wrestlers are very athletic. Miller will deservedly be favored but if Demas wants to make a statement, this is the dual to do it.

That's a great deal of pressure.

I'd say the experience of the home dual will be exciting (home opener, new intros, etc). However, I do not think all of the "stars" will be on the mat. Perhaps against Missouri they will be. (And again, I could be wrong.)

Man that stinks. Really an odd dilemma specific to wrestling. Fans/spectators want to see the 'stars' compete, this is what draws interest. Plain and simple.

As a coach you have to think long-term.

For me, it's important to put the emphasis on the dual meet and fan experience. It's the life-blood of interest in the sport.

James: Look me up. I'll be in the season ticket section in the upper portion of the arena. I'll have my #DotNet shirt on.

One frosty, cold one for you, good man.

If Hunter isn't going I would love to see Jake Ryan wrestle. He should see if his dad can talk to the coach.

Ummm, James. Coach Ryan IS Jake Ryan's dad.

Sorry for the confusion.
