Quote from Casey Talbott's post:

"Other websites are saying that Mizzou won by criteria, 20 to 19, based on Waters getting the first takedown (??)."

Not sure. Twitter feed said Buckeyes. And then they deleted it....

How is first takedown of the match in any way a meaningful criteria to break a tie? Seems like there are many other more telling criteria that could be used.

I'd say the last takedown would be more important. Not that that would help us in this case.

The criteria are silly. Just call the match a tie and move along.

Agreed. Hopefully we're done with criteria for the year.

Quote from Hank Kornblut's post:

"Not a very satisfying win but it feels better than a loss. Kresevic needed to manage the last period better but he certainly gives an effort.

I will go on record as saying that it's obvious in hindsight that Hunter was not ready. But he needed to get back on the mat at some point and a lot of good can come out of a butt kicking.

Tomasello will figure out how to stay away from big moves. He's better off having wrestled Waters, Dance and Peters in spite of the outcomes.

Nice efforts out of Mark Martin, Josh Demas and John DiJulius. All wrestled well against tough opponents. I'm sure Mizzou thought they'd get one of those. And Snyder was terrific."

I guess we know what kept Hunter out, an elbow injury. Tough match for his first one back. He never even got a shot off, which is uncharacteristic of Hunter. Even though NaTo has lost some close ones, he is definitely competitive with the top guys.

Anyone know why Courts didn't wrestle?

I guess I'm going to vent. I hold the buckeye coaches in a very high regard. However, this is the 2nd time they have neglected to coach for the win. I'm a numbers guy and I was well aware of the tightness in the criteria situations, which is why it drove me nuts watching Snyder ride in the 3rd period of the v tech match. Same situation occurs today and again they have him ride the first 20 or 30 seconds of the third. Also, coach nate to let go of the guys head and force the ref to get the guy up.....Walters was broken and every second counted.

Lastly, the forfeits in major d1 wrestling are crushing the sport. What Missouri did last night and today is shameful. Forfeiting the final 2 wts. to OH and to Logan today is devastating. How many people traveled to see Logan wrestle today....and to see Wellington and Cox last night. Hell...OU wrestled Romancheck at 174 last night.

Not sure how many of you guys were there, but It did not look like Hunter just wasnt 100% percent to me, it looked like he was still hurt pretty bad. Looked like he was in a lot of pain walking off the mat. I hope he is okay!

Confirmed on the Ohio State website that it was 20-19 in favor of the Tigers based on the first takedown.

In hindsight, I think it su-ked that Logan received a forfeit.

The biggest concern I take away from today is Tav needs to find away to beat a kid he outweighs by over 40 pounds if he plans on being an All American this season! If he wins that match we win the dual.

I would agree but let's now act like he wrestled some 197 that bumped up to wrestle. I'm willing to bet Cox could be several of the ranked 285 in one match
