I had the "pleasure" of wrestling Wlodarz my junior year, which I believe was his senior year at a tourney. He was a tough dude.

Wrestled at the Ohio Open a few times when I was at UD, it was quite the tourney. Had the champ, runner-up and 4th place finisher in my weight class (142) competing. Fortunately, I did not have to face any of them.

I don't think I've ever replied to this thread. Long-time .net reader, sporadic contributor.
I only wrestled in high school (Centerville), graduated in 2010.
Freshman year was my first ever year wrestling. Was mostly there to hang with friends. Ended the year sub .500 at freshman tourneys.
Worked my way into the varsity lineup my sophomore season via mid-year wrestle-off. Placed at my conference tourney with basically just a head-and-arm. Still pretty terrible but if you were sloppy and out of shape I could get you.
Junior year won the conference and made districts. Not a ton of offense to speak of but had picked up a low single and was tough to score on.
Senior year 4th in D1. The two guys I lost to at state both ended up as multiple time NCAA AA's (Habat, Harger), so I can't be too upset with that. Neither of them won that bracket, by the way.
Graduated from OSU in 2014, moved to NYC for work, where I still live. I try to make a dual or two per season, and Big 10's or NCAA's. Sometimes both if I can swing it.

I wrestled year round starting my sophomore year. I had a sort of flip of the switch for me that year--I had thought I was working hard in pre-season, and then lost my wrestle off. I was lucky then to have a teammate that showed me how to really work hard.
After that I pretty much wrestled anywhere and everywhere I could.
I had some really good coaches, and parents that didn't push me to do anything, but were willing to drive me anywhere to get some mat time in. So I was lucky, and also determined.

I had their Mentor District finals match the week before this.
Actually something interesting is that for 3 years in a row, the two finalists I had at Mentor met the following week in Columbus for a championship.
