Brit:

Please explain the content of the different rankings.

I see that you have Dual Result at 8th, but Dual Component at 2nd.

Please explain the difference between the two?

And how is roster component different from those?

Dual-Result is based on the results of dual meets, with no attention paid to which wrestlers competed in those dual meets. Dual-Component is based on the ratings of the individual wrestlers, with no attention paid to the team scores of the dual meets or tournaments. Roster-Component is functionally the same as the Dual-Component, but is calculated as if everybody (all over the country) were pulled out of their redshirts.

Thanks Britt!

That makes sense.

So, the reason we have a difference from 2nd to 8th in these rankings is because if all our talent was healthy and wrestled to rank, that would represent the 'Dual - component' rank, which is 2nd in the country.

But, since OSU has been missing 2 to 3 of our higher ranked wrestlers in every match, and because of that we have lost 3 matches (albeit very close), the 'Dual-Result' recognizes those loses, even though several of our 1st teamers were not available for those losses.

In other words, the 'Dual Component' assumes the 'prime-time' guys were out there against every opponent.
