The word I received had Walters injury defaulting due to a very similar situation as Waters/Gilman. Hmmmmm...

Just the word I received.

First match of the night. Almost identical. Except in this case, Cody's dad as well as a woman rushed onto the mat looking for a fight. Other OU fans had to pull them back to their seats. We usually have a barrier between the stands and the mat, but for whatever reason did not. Not that it would have stopped them. I was running the clock, so I wasn't privy to all that was going on, but evidently security had to remove him from the gym in the aftermath. Cody looked dazed at the moment, but thankfully did not appear to have a lasting injury.

Up until that blatant unsportsmanlike, it had been a good match. The score was 1-0 late in the third when Walters sealed it with a takedown.

After that, the rest of the match remained heated. At 184, Dye was losing by essentially 2 due to riding time with 15 seconds remaining. He got an escape and then a takedown with 2 seconds on the clock for the 5 to 4 win. At 157, the score was tied late in the third. A close takedown no-call by Davis was challenged and upheld. Then, he almost immediately got in on another shot....was close to scoring...and got (seemingly) elevatored to his own back for the OU win.

Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the drama because I was so focused on not screwing up the clock!
