Heard something this Am on the radio - over the last decade over 300 MLB pitchers have had Tommy John surgery. 1 in 5 never made it back to the majors; 1 in 2 never pitched more than 100 innings for the rest of their careers...now this doesn't account for age, years in the league, etc, but is still an indication that this surgery is not the panacea many people believe.
I know we all hope and pray Hunter makes it back into the lineup, but perhaps our expectations should be tempered. Good luck to him, and I hope he does wrestle again for OSU, but I pray these injuries don't compromise his future life away from wrestling.

JP: I can see the reason for pause. And I will join you in that.
One thing that jumps out at me concerning comparisons with MLB pitchers is that the elbow is strained in every pitch. I'm not saying that D-I wrestlers don't strain their elbows, but I would say it is less than once every 22 seconds roughly 75 times in about an hour.
All that to say, I'll hope for the best, and expect the worst.
