Ohio State joins an elite club. There have only been 12 programs that have won NCAA championships.

Oklahoma State (First in 1928)
Indiana (First and only in 1932)
Iowa State (First in 1933)
Oklahoma (First in 1936)
Cornell College (First and only in 1947)
UNI (First and only in 1950)
Penn State (First in 1953)
Michigan State (First in 1967)
Iowa (First in 1975)
Arizona State (First and only in 1988)
Minnesota (First in 2001)
Ohio State (First and hopefully not the last in 2015)

Which universities have the potential to make the leap and jump to become National Champions for the first time just like Ohio State finally did?

At the top of the heap, I'd say Cornell and Missouri have about the best chance.
