I'll also add this...I've seen Sara Maclachlan three times with my wife (Sara's her favorite artist. Maclachlan is the best live performer I've ever heard...sound slike it's being mixed in a studio, but just the right personal touches to know it isn't.

I saw the Killers while studying abroad in Rome, Italy two summers ago. Truly awesome experience. Also cool (but in a different way) was Macklemore, B.O.B., and Basshunter in one concert for our LDOC celebration at Duke my sophomore year.

I've seen Jonny Lang a few times.

I saw Pearl Jam out in Colorado while serving in the Army. (Saw them in Columbus as well.)

Got to see Mellencamp in Columbus once.

I'm sure I've seen others.

-John Mellencamp and Tom Petty great shows to have lawn seats for
-Metallica puts on a great show
-Tim and Faith was a good date night.
-Jamboree in the Hills was a great festival experience

If there is anything I enjoy more than wrestling it maybe concerts. Following Bands I've seen most of them up front.

- Went to Bonnaroo in 2013 and saw The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men plus Ed Helms from the office with the Lumineers about 5 feet away.

- I've seen Mumford up close 2x once in VA and once at the GOTR Stopover in Troy, Ohio.

- I've seen the Killers at the Horsehoe Casino.

- I've seen Ben Howard at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

- Also seen Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes at the GOTR in Troy too. Old Crow Medicine Show as there as well.

I guess this must mean that I am really old.
I have no idea who any of these acts are!
OUCH!!

Oh - and I've driven to Cincinnati to see a Christian singer-songwriter, folk/pop/country husband-wife duo in the form of Andy Gullahorn and Jill Phillips. Saw them in Alabama in 2001. I'd like to travel to see them in Nashville or one of the Carolinas and make a weekend out of it.

But, this Friday, they are coming to Columbus. Woo-Hoo!!!

Jim don't feel bad. I am clueless to who those bands are.

I have seen way more than my share of bands. Lawn seats at Blossum Music Center were $6 I think in my Geauga Lake years. The Pretenders, Jimmy Buffet and Cleveland Orchestra for 4th of July were never missed. The Coliseum was new in my teen years. Saw many many shows back then - Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, Grateful Dead and The J. Geils Band . Then in 1995 I started writing programs to automate the ticket broker business. I really got spoiled sitting in first 10 rows for dozens of shows. Rolling Stones, Eagles, Neil Young, AC/DC, Kiss, ...

Now days I'm happy to catch a Blues or Classic Rock Band at a small club/bar/restaurant once or twice a year.

Back in my high school\college days I saw AC\DC twice, once at Blossom and once at Richfield. White Lion opened for them at Richfield. I saw Aerosmith at Richfield. Then there was Monsters of Rock at the Rubber Bowl, featuring Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, Dokken, and Kingdom Come. Lastly there was Jimmy Buffet at Buckeye Lake. Shows you my age because 2 of those locations don't exist anymore.

In my later years I've seen James Taylor at River Bend and Neil Diamond twice. Once at the "Q" and just a few weeks ago at the Barclay's center in Brooklyn. Neil puts on a hell of a show, and it's kinda nice still being one of the youngest in the audience!

Jimmy Buffett at Buckeye Lake...when they actually built an entire Margaritaville with side stages in the parking lot...was a beautiful disaster. They opened it at 10 AM. The show was at 7 PM.

That is all.

Greg, you've got a great memory.

I see that the Newport is on your list. In my concert going days, it was called the Agora. I knew the manager there in the early to mid 70's, and I can remember sitting in his office talking to him when Earl Scruggs walked in to get paid. Very shy man, as I recall.

Had a lot of fun when Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks played there.

The Agora was a movie theatre when my parents went to OSU. Time marches on.
