Discussion Topic: Ohio State's Second Best Season

Ohio State just finished what has to be considered their greatest season in history: NCAA Team Title, 4x NCAA Champion in Stieber, Stieber wins the Hodge, Team wins Big Ten Tourney, Tomasello becomes frosh NCAA champ and Snyder makes a World Team at age 18-19. Poor Bo Jordan--he goes 23-2 and finishes 3rd in NCAA's and he's an afterthought!
So, what would be considered the second best season in school history?

It's got to be early 90s...the Holman, Randleman, DiSabito, Marenelli, Ramsey, Schyck years???
I'm thinking '93. That was a good team. It just sucks to be in a conference with Iowa during The Gable Years, and that Penn State team was excellent as well.

The 1993 NCAA's were the best I ever attended. Most every match was exciting.
118 Z lost his third final.
126 Locked hands determined the outcome.
134 A highly anticipated matchup. Many, including me, were surprised at the outcome.
142 This one is considered an absolute classic.
150 This one was highly controversial, with another classic finish.
177 and 190 made every Buckeye's day.
That heavyweight was stronger than hell. Don did what Kyle did and paid the price.
Ohio State scored just over half the points Iowa scored in 1993. Still, that was a great Buckeye team.

...and the 158 finals with two freshmen from Ohio, Mollica (Walsh) & Robbins (Xenia) was great too!

...and Ohio State's Mike Schyck was right there with both those guys. Lost in OT to Mollica I believe. He was so good. He had a low single game that was fantastic. He was impossible to hold down on bottom with a head spin that was spectacular. He's one of those Ohio State guys that many forget about, but he was excellent.
Btw, I always thought Bormet (Michigan) was the best guy in that weight.
