Discussion Topic: Twelfth Annual Pirate Holiday Duals (Cardington) 1/2/2016 needs teams
Larry Smith added to this discussion on September 23, 2015

We have a new head coach on board at Cardington: Colton Bowers, two time state placer for Marion Pleasant, who is also our art teacher. Coach Bowers is very enthusiastic and is actively recruiting potential wrestlers in the hallways and classrooms (and on the football field) at Cardington. We could still use some additional teams for our annual varsity dual tournament on Saturday, January 2. In the past we have run this with 12 teams on six mats, everyone getting 5 duals with no bye rounds. Right now we have only six teams under contract: Ayersville, Coshocton, Garaway, Ridgewood, and Waynedale, in addition to our own Cardington Pirates. That would be a good round robin dual tournament, but unless we get more teams we will have to ask some of our all-star officiating crew to consider stepping aside. As long as we have an even number of teams we can still do it without byes, up to our limit of 12 teams. Please contact Cardington athletic director Bill Clauss (bill.clauss@cardingtonschools.org, 740-975-6566) or myself (Larry Smith, champsdad@Columbus.rr.com, 419-688-0268) if you might want to enter your team.
