Here is a highlight reel of Ohio State; years 1988-2000.

Old school individuals.

Do you see how many Bucks hit the "steparound"? Same move Gadson used on Snyder.

In all fairness, Kevin Randleman seemed to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

But to your point, yes. At least 3 or 4 had it down.

Whose influence would that have been - Hellickson? Or was it just a move from that era?

I'll have to ask Will Knight. He was a Buckeye at the time of these vids. It was a team move. Eric Smith was really good at it. Will brought it back to Shaker when he finished up at tOSU and we had a few guys win matches with it.

Trivia question (for beginners) re the 1992 highlight video, below link. At the 10:16 mark, Randleman - who has just won the NCAA title - has been hugging Coaches Hellickson and Coleman, and is then approached/hugged by another wrestler. What's the name of the wrestler, what college is he from, and what's the "rest of the story"?

I used to own this vhs video. Loaned it, and a host of other videos, to one of the nurses at OSU who had a son who wrestled in high school. I know he placed at states- 5th I believe.

Anyway, I lost track of her and never saw my videos again.

My guess would have been Charlie Jones from Purdue, but the uniform looks like it has some red in it.
