Discussion Topic: State Sponsored Doping in Russia

The article discusses a report done by WADA's ex-president. It doesn't specifically name wrestling, but it is interesting nonetheless

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!?!?!?!

In Russia!?

Should be interesting to see where this leads. Only problem is the corruption of the IOC. If Russia can grease enough palms or the correct palms with enough money, they'll be fine.

I've always thought wrestling was an arena that could see major competitive advantage from doping. But surprisingly it's never been a major topic in our sport. With Russia's recent dominance at the World Championships it leads me to wonder if that played a role?

Can't believe people are shocked by this - after all we've know this was happening since Drago train.

The question I have to ask is, what happened to all the "clean" dope tests that we were told about in London?

I always tell people that the concept of "no positives" means squat.
Was there no one that doped?
Is the test reliable?
Did they just "happen" to test the wrong people?
Were results swept under the rug?
Did any money change hands?

There are LOTS of questions to be asked here.

Jim: ask all the questions you want; you won't get honest answers.

Brady: amen!

Mark,
I know and understand completely.
There is very little on the world wide stage that I believe in anymore.
Sad but true.

Well, we know that the former Soviet Bloc was littered with doping (the infamous E. German swim team). So what are the odds that one of the most corrupt nations in the world is suddenly clean?

Sadly, even without all the dirt, they'd probably be one of our greatest competitors on the world stage. But they're tainting every single thing they touch. I agree with Jim, there's very little I trust on the world stage these days.
