Other than Missouri, the MAC has not been this balanced since I started watching about 15 years ago. There is very, very little that separates KSU, CMU, OU, Old Dominion, and Northern Iowa. In addition, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and even Northern Illinois are better than they were several years ago. Although the score did not reflect it, KSU could have lost its dual with UB given the wire finishes in 4/5 matches. I'm seriously considering making the trip to Ypsilanti for the conference tournament. Did the addition of the new schools have the predicted effect of improving the conference? A look at non-conference results and tournaments would be interesting.
