Marinelli vs Hall at 170? in folkstyle would be a mighty contest, imo.

Organizers for the Dream Team Classic, sponsored by Cliff Keen Athletic and organized by Wrestling USA Magazine, have announced those wrestlers accepting invitations for the United States team over the last week. This year, the event is being held at New Prague High School in Minnesota on Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. CT.

The following wrestlers have been selected for the United States team, with rankings as of February 3. (Seven wrestled in Ironman)

113: No. 3 Danny Vega (Ironwood Ridge, Ariz.)
120: No. 2 Jack Mueller (Trinity Christian Academy, Texas)
126: No. 3 Kyle Norstrem (Brandon, Fla.)
132: No. 6 (at 138) Taylor Lamont (Maple Mountain, Utah)
138: No. 8 Brent Moore (St. Paris Graham, Ohio)
145: No. 4 Carter Happel (Lisbon, Iowa)
152: No. 1 Mason Manville (Wyoming Seminary, Pa.)
160: No. 9 (at 182) Daniel Bullard (Archer, Ga.)
170: No. 2 Alex Marinelli (St. Paris Graham, Ohio)
182: No. 1 Nick Reenan (Wyoming Seminary, Pa.)
195: No. 3 Ben Darmstadt (Elyria, Ohio)
220: No. 3 Matt Stencel (Oregon Clay, Ohio)
285: No. 1 Osawaru Odighizuwa (David Douglas, Ore.)

Wrestlers for the Minnesota team will be announced at some time in the future.

None going to an Ohio college. Big deal or no deal?

Cool event.

imo sure its a big deal, C Mich geting a big man the caliber of Stencil wow! --- ohio st not geting Marinelli a big loss. Its a win for the 4 kids, its their choice & i'm happy for them -- but for ohio wrestling colleges its something else.

Having watched Stencil this year it is hard to imagine 2 wrestlers better than him in the country. His season has been the most dominant I have ever seen. State placers getting pinned in sub 30 seconds. People are just shaking their heads at his prolific pinning this year.

Cubberly has a pretty established relationship with CMU doesn't he? They probably got in on him early (9th/10th) and stayed committed while the other schools didn't take notice until later. I'm curious if he projects to wrestle 285 or 197. He's not a massive 220 by any means.

Marinelli had big school written all over him, and OSU had already committed to Martin with Bojo looking to move up. Not sure if anyone but OSU could've landed him, and not sure if the interest was mutual from what I've read. I could certainly be wrong.

ohio st wanted Marinelli badly, i think he liked ohio st but Iowa won.

good point Cubberly connection - Stencil has had star written all over him for at least 2 maybe 3 years, from his work in fargo as well as in ohio.

FLO posts their top 50 Freshman high school wrestlers list, ohio leads with 10 - TEN. No dearth talent in buckeye state. 11 college div 1 AAs last season, 2nd to PAs 13. Ohio colleges should be in good position to get their share.
