Any thoughts on this wrestler leaving the state? I've seen his name mentioned on this forum a few times.

Two-time Ohio state runner-up Jared Campbell (St. Edward) verbally committed to the University of Missouri on Sunday evening. The projected 285 pound wrestler is ranked No. 39 overall in the Class of 2017, and was champion at the FloNationals and NHSCA Junior Nationals this spring, finishing the 2015-16 scholastic season ranked No. 8 nationally at 220. He is the second Class of 2017 commitment to Missouri, joining Jacob Raschka (Pewaukee, Wis.)

Brian Smith has an eye for overlooked talent.

I like Campbell's upside at the collegiate level. Im not a huge proponent of recruiting heavy's out of high school based on the lack of agility comparative to a 220 or smaller heavy that can grow into the weight. Campbell or event the Clay kid I think will both be great additions to any D1 room. I hope the bucks can land that Gable Stephenson kid out of Minnesota, another 220 with great athleticism and growth potential. I think he's only a sophomore/junior if I remember correctly.

It would be awesome if they landed Stepheson, but it seems like he has some other options that are a lot more natural unfortunately.

Campbell 39th ranked recruit in the country, we consider that over-looked?
Mizzou is right behind the top 5 programs when it comes to landing elite talent. They are a proven commodity.

i'm told buckeyes are tapped out, have $ for Spencer Lee & Romero-- or their like - but thats it. So "overlooked" not quite accurate, just a case of limited cash.

I hadn't even thought about the fact that the buckeyes have no seniors scheduled to be in the line-up next year, unless one of the "back ups" launches into the line up at one of the weights (With the exception of TAV). That's a lot of funds tied up over the course of the next two years....and your not maximizing your $$ at heavy since you get KS for the last month of the season theoretically. If he follows the game plan laid out this year...which I wouldn't see why he wouldn't.

Now that the Spencer Lee $$ has been freed up, who's the next 125# tOSU needs to focus on?
