BLAIR sophomore Julian Ramirez decisive 8-3 win over former #1 David Carr in the 152 lb semi-finals of the 2016 Beast of the East. Carr also strugled in Ironman finals, losing 5-2 to Cal kid-- what to make of it?

Pretty sure this is the same Blair kid that wrestled Carr in the semi's of Ironman. Was winning pretty big, maybe 8-2, before Carr mounted an unbelievable comeback to win the match. Ramirez got on top of Carr and turned him a couple of times getting out that lead. Carr was then able to take Ramirez down to his back (maybe multiple times) to get the win. Going off memory so some of that may be a bit off.

I hate to use this as an excuse, but Carr looks seriously undersized at 152 to some of these kids (Ramirez and Cal kid). Carr is very good on his feet, but did have some trouble on bottom at the Ironman. Just my $.02 for what it's worth.

yes same kid ---and maybe soph Ramirez that good, i think he placed Ironman 5th or so as freshman in a mid wt for a florida school last year ---that is unusual for frosh at mid wt

Tagg bros both making finals again, last week won Ironman, quite a feat back to back weeks for those guys.

I didn't think Carr looked undersized compared to his opponents. Ramirez was very active with his hands and re-shots and Carr didn't respond to that type of style of wrestling. The only concern I have with Carr is he's giving up back points.

TOSU Wrestling re-tweets something by Roman Bravo-Young. Thought he was committed to PSU?

Top internet dork award goes to me...

Tom Ryan tweeted last night "Packed house tonight in the Valley for the @NazWrestling dual with Easton!" Looks like Tom Ryan went to watch Sammy Sasso wrestle in person.
