They're going at the CSU Open. Pletcher needs to wrestle enough matches at 141 to qualify for RPI ranking. Ryan? Maybe this is about getting him on track.

This makes sense for Pletcher - probably not struggling with weight and should have no issues making it tomorrow. To me, this makes less sense with Ryan. I think we all agree he needs to get some things figured out. The kid has talent. But back to back weigh ins may not be the best idea. Maybe he sits against NW tomorrow. The dual shouldn't be competitive so I can see Ryan sitting some starters.

Do you think both will sit tomorrow? Fitzgerald could go 141, but who replaces Ryan? I see Snyder is not listed to start either, which I figured would happen now and again.

Pletcher will wrestle. In order to get ranked for seeding purposes he needs a certain number of matches at 141. His 133 bouts don't count. He'll probably do at least one more open.

Looks like Pletcher with a tech and major. Ryan with two pins.
Mark Hall wrestling unnattached with two first period pins.

I like this move. Let Jake Ryan get a little bit ahead of the pitcher with his record takes some pressure off. I also like Pletcher getting more matches at 141.
Good stuff.

Agreed. Made perfect sense for both guys. Pletcher obvously needs to build his resume at 141 to get that B1G allocation and Ryan has been in a funk. Good idea to get him some wins and maybe a boost in his confidence as well.

Agreed. I liked the move on both parts. I would even say there's a couple others that could have possibly benefitted from this as well. Were these the only two Bucks at CSU or just the two starters of note?

Great question John. I'm not sure but it might have had something to do with both of them having to make weight and wrestle again the next day.

This made me chuckle considering how adamant you were the other day about other thoughts you had about this.
