Luke Pletcher attending Midlands is great and not a big surprise. Never imagined Myles Martin participating at Midlands.

I'm curious how these two got in if it was a recent decision. I thought they just told Mark Hall no because the registration window had closed. Either way should be some great comp for the two of them; although, I thought I remembered a couple of years ago the bucks tried to send a couple of individuals, and then it never ended up happening.

Pletcher needs matches at 141 for post season NCAA qualification. Martin? He's got 8 league duals coming up plus the National Duals event. If he wants the competiton, then good for him. But it's an unusual move...not a bad one just a big surprise.

Based on what I've seen of Myles' wrestling my belief is that the more he wrestles someone the higher the probability he will defeat the opponent in a subsequent match. At the Midlands he will wrestle some opponents that he will see later in the year. What he learns at the Midlands, win or lose, will pay dividends later on.

Good point. But is that why he's going?

Brackets are coming out now...Pletcher is the 8 seed, would have Ayers man (Purdue) in the round of 16 and potentially Koldozik (1 seed) in the quarters.

Martin is the 2 seed behind T.J. Dudley. Would have former AA Dechow (Old Dominion) in the quarters and Renda (NC State) in the semis.
