Clarion once a legendary foe under coach Bubb, in early 70s when it was allowed, 4 of their wrestlers moved up from lower division to win FIVE NCAA titles over 2 years -- legendary Wade Schalles accounting for 2 of them-- remarkable for one small school during what many consider college wrestlings heyday.
trivia for the day, w/o googling who can name any of the 3 other wrestlers who won NCAA indiv titles those 2 years? i know weve got a handful of savvy oldtimers on here.

Don, yes tough question but fair, befiting tough readers, this forum features high wrestling IQ readers like yourself.---
yes Don Rohn is one, of interest Rohn later coached Northampton PA to mythical national title in about 1992. Rohn also featured in recent AWN article listing the 15 wrestlers who have won NCAA titles as true frosh (Myles Martin being the latest). Rohn never won it again.
