Bucks land another light weight prospect. So, next year it's the twins from Wisconsin, then Heinselman then the smaller Decatur. There's help in the pipeline but it would still be really nice to get at least one more decent prospect for next season.

Incidentally, Heinselman is a great freestyler which is good news for the Ohio RTC.

Boom! The twins will have to do next year (the 113# is ranked 14th by WIN), and then the weight should be filled for a few years.

Tom Ryan doing work!

Heinselman is a really fine prospect. 3 Fargo Titles and World Level Competition. Plus, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders (cliche but true). Key will be for him to grow into the weight.

I saw another tweet today from Ryan that said more good news to come soon.

Could it be Carr?

On yappi, someone posted that Jashon Hubbard of Steubenville committed and cruiser_96 (aka Niemann) posted that Mead was in as well. Good time to be a Buckeye!

Someone also posted Mead got an offer and didn't commit yet so who knows.

How excited should I be about Hubbard? Depth guy or AA potential?

Right now I would say depth guy. He took 3rd at 106 as freshman and 4th last year at 132 and is only a Jr. but time will tell.

He's a depth guy at Ohio State, not someone you expect/hope to start in the near term. 2x SP, projected to take third this year at state as a junior. A program like Kent State or Ohio U. would view him as a more important piece.

Mead (if he was to have committed) is also a depth guy. The Koontz twins are depth guys as well.

Heinselman, presuming some physical size growth, is a "big ticket" type of guy. The talent and productivity is there, the question is size.

I've watched a lot of Heinselman over last 24 hours. Every video I fall a little more in love. He's like Logan--he's just attacking constantly and not afraid to give up points. And he's seemingly unflappable regardless of opponent or score. If he can grow into the weight, the Bucks have found a marvelous talent moving foward.

And all this Bucks talk about 125 left out Jacob Decatur.

Malik Heinselman is a very accomplished international wrestler. Can someone provide his national folkstyle accomplishments? Doesn't seem to be a lot of folkstyle matches on him and the one I did find, length and strength was an issue.

NCAA is switching from folk to free. They're gonna do it in a few years when Trump gets impeached and Hillary is awarded the presidency (yes I'm being sarcastic).

Your point is valid. Heinselman is clearly an elite freestyler and that's no guarantee of folk success. I like him a lot because he's fearless and very clever in how he competes. I think he'll figure out folk. My biggest concern is that he's a junior in high school competing at 106. As for the strength issue, he seems to overcome it with superior technique and pace.
