I am glad that you post on this site. At this time of the year I appreciate a good analytical look at wrestler comparison, as opposed to 'eye-testing' and 'opinioned based' rankings. We may not always agree with everything, but there is a sound base in the strength of schedule and level of opponent beaten in your calculations.
For Buckeye fans, I would assume that this base is one that the NCAA selection committee will be using to make their picks this week.
125 - JOSE - #15, but high SOS. Probably in line to meet a #1 or #2 in the quarters.
133 - NATO - Slam dunk #1 pick. Should be top seed.
141 - Luke #19. Probably meet #11 or 12 in first round, and a #4 or 5 in the quarters.
149 - Micah - #4. In line to meet Zain in the semis.
157 - Jake - #34. - Probably not going to make it this year.
165 - Cody - #27. He should have a good chance of making the top 33. It depends on how many higher seeds were upset at tournaments, or injury selections.
174 - Bo - #2. On-line for Realbuto in the semis, and Zahid in the finals.
184 - Myles - #5. Probably in Dean's half of the bracket, and no chance to meet Nickal again.
197 - Kollin - #3. Good seed for him. It lines up for Pfarr in the semis, and Cox in the finals.
285 - Kyle - #1. Does it really matter. He'll take on anybody, anytime, anywhere!
The following is just an exercise for us over-excited Buckeye fans, but what kind of scoring would we have at NCAA's if our performance followed the seeding of these rankings?
133 - NATO - 1st Place - 24 points.
149 - Micah - 4th Place - 11 points.
174 - Bo - 2nd Place - 20 points.
184 - Myles - 5th Place - 10 points.
197 - Kollin- 3rd Place - 18 points.
285 - Kyle - 1st Place - 24 points.
This scenario would produce approximately 107 points.
If they wrestle to seed, they should be competitive with PSU and OkSU.
